As you may very well know it, playing the right songs is very important for the success of your wedding day. Of course, you may have an idea of what you want to play during the big day – but what are the songs that can (and should) be skipped? We have some suggestions you might want to consider – so read on and find out more.
- We Are Family, by Sister Sledge. Although not inappropriate, this is one of those wedding songs that has been played so much it has grown to be a cliché. Yes, it’s your wedding, and everyone knows your family is there and you love them – but you might want to think of another song to show this off.
- I Gotta Feeling, by The Black Eyed Peas. Of course, this is a very good party song – but the truth is that it has been played at every other party your guests have attended in the last several years. If you want to avoid a bored out crowd, avoid playing this song too.
- Every Breath You Take, by The Police. We’re pretty sure this song was originally intended to be romantic – but would you actually want anyone following you every breath you take, every move you make? Probably not – and this is precisely why this song may seem a bit too stalker-ish for a wedding (or…anything else, for that matter).
- The Chicken Dance. Yes, it’s popular, and yes, it can be really fun for a house party. But given that this is a more formal event, everyone will be dressed up – so do you actually want your guests to be flapping their hands around wearing tuxedoes and formal dresses on The Chicken Dance?
